Took advantage of a break in the rain and lucked out! Andrew did such an amazing job... these were taken the day after prom too, so yeah he's a trooper. Must be the athlete in him : ).
Thanks again Andrew, it was a pleasure!
And lastly as the sun was setting...
Hello everyone & Merry Christmas! Just wanted to take this time to let you all know that next year I will not "officially" be doing business as a photographer. I love photography and will still be doing photos for for those interested, or those I have photographed previously.
I hope to get out and photograph more in the coming year. I have always wanted to make some fine art prints, fingers crossed... I'll be sharing those with you soon.
Any inquiries or questions head over here.
Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
Lisa ( & Penny : ) )
I could go on and on about how "awesome!" and "ah-mazing!" our trip to Spain was, but I'm gonna keep it real. Is everyone else I see and read about online having as fantastic a time as they always present?? Don't get me wrong... there were good times, and I certainly appreciate the fact I was able to go on a trip like this at all.
First up was Barcelona, we stayed at H10 Montcada. The hotel was really nice, great rooftop, and we were happy with our room, etc. The one thing that brought it down was every time we had to go through the lobby entering and exiting the hotel we were bombarded with a really strong cologne or ?? I mean REALLY strong. I have asthma and allergies too, so I was very much affected, but even my husband couldn't believe how strong it was. Of course I forgot my inhaler too, so I was freaking out a bit. Finally went to a doctor when we went to Madrid. I also got a prescription for anxiety, which I got violently sick from that night. Good times... my poor husband.
Here are some of the random photos I took. Some are not of the best quality, because somehow I was shooting jpeg for a while. I have no idea how this happened. So frustrating. Anyways... you can see where my interests lie, dogs and ice cream. There were dogs all over Barcelona, everywhere, and I was missing my Penny...
We did a food tour with Devour in the neighborhood of Gracia. Our guide was great, def recommend these tours. We had an olive oil tasting and education, went to a few restaurants and patisseries. Our guide also took us to the main market in that neighborhood where we of course tasted different hams etc... That was a major take away from Spain... ham, ham, ham. This photo below of course has not much to do with it of it. I just liked the ad. ; ) We also did a history and food tour in Madrid, loved it too. We ended up going back to a couple of the places we tried on the tour. Had some delicious mushrooms and buttery shrimp. 😋
Another thing you will see everywhere is graffiti and art work on buildings and on the roller doors to shops when they are closed.
Okay, so interests revisited... dogs, ice cream and food in general. Las Fritas was so yummy and the people were friendly too.
These olives were D licious! I also took this photo because we had learned about "the hour of vermouth" tradition.
Zoom in on the look on his face. I'm reminded of a Judas Priest song... breaking the law, breaking the law". Okay, now I have to listen to it and some more songs I haven't heard in a long time.🤘
More street art... & this tiger was everywhere. Anyone know about it?
There is no so thing as too much ice cream on vacation.
The Bear and the Strawberry Tree, the coat of arms of Madrid.
I have so many more photos, and so much more I feel I'm not sharing, but if I don't post these soon, I have a feeling it will never happen at all. On the chance anyone is reading this, feel free to leave any questions you may have. : ) & maybe I'll add more to this post later... Adéu for now.
First off, a big thanks to Luke for being so much fun to photograph. I have known Luke and his family for several years now and I was so impressed with the young man he has become. Luke is currently a senior at St Augustine High School here in San Diego and will be moving on to study at Northern Arizona University. Best of luck to you Luke!!!
It was so much fun photographing Klarece, of Klarece Counseling. She has such a great personality and fun loving spirt. After working for AT&T for several years, Klarece is now a licensed marriage and family therapist. I think she has found her calling...
Warbrobe change for a couple...
This past Saturday my husband and I FINALLY made it to Old Town to have our tintype portrait done by C.A.S. Photography. Yep, that's Alex in the background on his phone...
It was such an interesting process, I only wish I could remember everything Catherine and her father Clem told us. They'll give you an education. It's amazing that someone ever figured this all out. These are a few photos I took of our tintype being made and some of the process. Catherine will make your photo and you can go enjoy Old Town a while then come back to pick it up, but if you're not in a rush, I really recommend sticking around and seeing how it's all done. I just fell in love with these two as a couple... Just two, down to earth, fun loving people. No doubt in my mind they are going to make great parents. Jake is such a gentleman and Paige, I later found out, was having a bit of a rough day getting about and doing these photos, but there was never one complaint. They both smiled, had some fun and enjoyed each other in the moment. Thank you so much Jake & Paige, and I can't wait to meet Easton!
That was going to be the last one, but I just had to include a couple just for fun photos we grabbed in the last drip of light...
How beautiful does this mama-to-be look!? I'll be sharing more from this maternity session at Mission Trails soon.
Some of our favorites from this shoot. I love all of the different looks and scenery at Mission Trails. It was a little chilly this January day, so a big thank you to Yesenia for knocking it out!
Well, it has been foreveeeer since I have posted anything here. Life has been crazy, but I am trying to get back into the swing of things.
I have one little nugget to share for now. Beautiful Yesenia here is a senior at Bonita Vista H.S. in Chula Vista. It was a little chilly on this January day... what a trooper!
